Dr. Yaser A. Metwally is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in hip and knee replacement surgery.
Dr. Metwally was born in Berkeley, CA. He earned his Doctor of Medicine and Residency in Orthopedic Surgery from Ain-Shams University, Cairo, Egypt where he was also ranked the first in the Master’s Degree of Orthopedic Surgery. He then went on to further pursue his General Surgery Residency PGY I-II from the University of Illinois - Metropolitan Group, Chicago, Illinois, and Orthopedic Surgery Residency PGY II-V from the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada. He then received his Fellowship of Reconstructive Surgery from the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.
Dr. Metwally is board-certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery (ABOS) and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada (FRCS).
